Stamp Club review January 2023

Stamp Club is off to a strong start this year and as always, it is a highlight of my month! I love planning and preparing the projects for my members and guests. I love the gathering time where we all catch-up a bit with each other, encourage and inspire one another and share in the joy of creativity. SOOO many times I hear the same thing from my stamping group: “I love this. I NEED this time so much! It’s such a good time to let my brain focus on something creative and wonderful, breaking out of the everyday pressures and responsibilities of life”. Of course nothing could replace true therapy for some of our needs in life, but stamping and paper-crafting certainly is “therapeutic” in the way it allows us to slow down, use our creativity and enjoy doing something that brings joy to others as well as ourselves. If you’ve never been part of Stamp Club, contact me today – I still have a space for you. [Stamp Club is a monthly, in-person meeting where crafters make 3 projects that I have prepared in advance. Materials are provided and there is no class fee. Members commit to making a monthly purchase of products of their choice during the term of the membership. Members benefit from the groups purchases and are rewarded by earning free products.]

Our first project was this card using the Adorable Owls stamp set (which is offered as a free gift during the 2023 SaleABration promotion)…

Both color schemes shown above use DSP (Designer Series Paper) from the Dandy Designs 12 x 12 pack of paper. This pack is offered as a SAB reward and is a SUPER pack containing 48 sheets! Such lovely colors and designs. At the bottom of this post I’ve provided the materials that were used. The second Stamp Club project was this card using the new Playing in the Rain stamp set. Coordinating DSP called Rain or Shine was used as well. There are SO many lovely components to this Suite which is all found in the 2023 January – April mini catalog. Words cannot accurately describe the texture and details in this paper – the rainy paper shown has a lovely shimmer and texture that really elevates this card.

In both versions a book-binding fold was used. The critter image was stamped in Memento black ink then colored with Stampin’ Blends. (Stampin’ Blends make the average person’s coloring look so beautiful and artistic!) At the bottom of this post I’ve provided the materials that were used. The third project was a very sweet and very easy Valentine treat. As with nearly all projects, you can substitute the color scheme and the stamps and paper to adjust to just about any holiday or occasion. This treat holder was made with new DSP and other items in the Country Floral Boutique Suite in the new January – April mini catalog. The treat holder starts with only 2 pieces of DSP cut 2″ x 4″. From there it’s just some ribbon and a bit of stamping/decorating. This holds 2 Dove Promises. You can find other similar sized treats that would fit just as well. If concerned about the treats sliding out, simply add a glue dot on the treat before sliding into the holder and gently press it to adhere it to the paper.
