More quick card ideas!

Two cards for you today. The first one is going to be featured on my YouTube series called “Simply Saturday” and will post at 6am (PST) on Saturday November 25. It’s such an easy lay out with only 2 small pieces of DSP, framed with colored card stock. (View the YouTube video to see other examples of this great lay out).

To make this card you’ll need:

  • Garden Green card stock 4 1/4″ x 11″. Score and fold at 5 1/2″
  • (2) Basic white card stock 4″ x 5 1/4″. One is for inside panel
  • Cherry Cobbler card stock 2″ x 5″
  • Cherry Cobbler card stock 3″ x 3″
  • DSP 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″
  • DSP 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
  • basic white card stock scrap for the die cut circle

I chose an optional step – you can see it in the photo. I used an embossing folder to create a nice embossed background on the white front panel. Do you see the subtle snowflakes? If you want to skip this step, it makes the card even faster to put together.

I stamped the words on a scrap of card stock and cut it out with a die from Stylish Shapes (one of my MOST used sets of dies). Add some gems, sequins or pearls – I used Festive Pearls, to jazz is up a bit! Voila! You’re done. Now swap up the color combos and/or the DSP and you can get many different looks.

For the second card, I’m showing you another great way to use DSP for a fast card. This one was featured on Simply Saturday on November 18. The reason I especially like this design is the way it uses another piece of DSP for background. See it there? It’s a subtle reindeer print, but very effective. I also like how the words are stamped directly on the DSP in this instance. Finished with a bow it gives the feeling of a package. What do you think?

To make this card you’ll need:

  • Thick basic white cards stock for base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″
  • DSP (pattern 1), for front panel 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • DSP (pattern 2) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  • DSP (pattern 3) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  • DSP (pattern 4) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  • Optional other elements, trim or embellishments.

I hope your season is filled with things that bring you joy – like visiting with friends, gathering with family and lots of time to make and share hand-crafted creations!

Hugs & Happy Stamping!
