I keep saying it, because I mean it! This adorable Bee Mine 12 x 12 DSP is NOT just for Valentine projects. With the buzzy bees, hearts and flowers, I get it! It comes across as Valentines. And the Suite is called Bee Mine, so that’s pretty targeted at Valentines. But it’s SO much more! The paper is simply adorable with flowers, hearts, bees, honeycomb, plaid and stripes and with word stamps like, “I love you”, “you make my heart buzz”, there is just plain love and happiness built into these products. I chose a favorite pattern and used it for the Thank You card below.
You may notice the honeycomb embossed layer, which happens to work perfectly here. Hopefully you have bought that in the past, when bees made an appearance. It is retired but I’m so happy I’ve held onto it and brought it into use for this card. The colors in the paper are some of favorites, just so cheery, but I wanted it featured on bold black to make it pop. I think it worked. What do you think?
To make this card you’ll need:
- Basic Black card stock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Score and fold at 4 1/4″
- White card stock (Julie’s layering template #2) or 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic Black card stock (Julie’s layering template #5) or 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
- DPS (Julie’s layering template #6) or 3″ x 4 1/4″
- white scrap for stamping and punching.
- Adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers
- Charming Sentiments stamp set
- Heartfelt Hexagon punch
The Heartfelt Hexagon is my current favorite punch. The lines are crisp and clean and the size is perfect for so many sentiments. I can’t get enough of the Adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments. I’ve bought 3 extra packs because they won’t be around much longer. I offer a full card tutorial on YouTube if you’d like to see the step-by-step instructions. I’ve loaded that here for you:
Typically, I’ll make more than one card when I’m playing with a lay out. This time was no different. Here are all 3 cards side by side:
By changing the colors, the DSP selection, the words and the embellishments you can go wild with this layout and get all kinds of looks. I especially like the center card that uses Countryside Inn Suite products. I paired the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder with the Countryside Inn 12 x 12 DSP here and used Misty Moonlight card stock. I’ve made the same card but with a different pattern paper, teamed with Boho Blue and Night of Navy cardstock as well. The card on the left is set on a Berry Burst base – wow! And that DSP is called Delightful Floral which is found in the Online Exclusives section of the ordering website. Item 162356. You DO know about Online Exclusives right? Here is a link and I’ll post an article with all the details soon. https://www.stampinup.com/categories/shop-products/featured-products/online-exclusives?demoid=1434
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping in. Hugs & Happy Stamping!
