A cute card for Halloween…and beyond

Not just for Halloween or October! You can make this same card with ANY colors, ANY Designer Series Paper, ANY sentiment! Switch it up! I can’ wait to see what you will come up with. This card needed to fit these specifications: SUPER fast and easy. Make a card with what you have. What do you think?

I used DSP called “Them Bones” which comes as 12 x 12 paper in an assorted, coordinating pack of papers. I put this one on a black card stock base, but below is a photo of a similar card on a Pumpkin Pie card stock base. Use what papers you have on hand. The “focal point” can be words, as I did here, or any image like a cute critter, some flowers, a pumpkin…anything!! I used a die to cut out the words, but a simple square, circle or rectangle will work too. Don’t think that you need to have a lot of specialty items or tools to copy this card. To make this card you’ll need:

  • card stock base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score and fold at 4 1/4″
  • 4 strips of DSP, each on is 1 1/4″ x 4″
  • scrap white card stock for your focal image
  • about 6″ of ribbon, trim or twine
  • embellishments as desired
  • white card stock 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside panel, Optional

To make the similar design, I turned my cardstock base, using a piece that is 4 1/4″ x 11″ and is scored/folded at 5 1/2″. To copy this design, use 5 strips of DSP instead of 4 and each one should measure 1″ x 4″.

I hope you’ll try out this SUPER fast card. To see the full tutorial and watch me make one, visit my Youtube channel. It will air on Saturday September 16 at 6am.
