Our first meeting was this week and we made 3 great cards. One was charming. One was clever and one was delicious! Is that a thing if it’s not edible? I think so. So here we go….

Project 1 was this adorable Thank you card with a pop-up surprise on the inside. Pop-up cards are far from new, but the dies that are included in this Pop Up Petals die set make it SO much easier! No more figuring, measuring, cutting, scoring to get your mechanism prepared. Just pick a spot, use the die and presto! Your pop up mechanism has been created.
Here is a close up of the mechanism that makes the pop up work.

I chose a combination of yellows and blues for this feel-good card. The card base is Lemon Lolly and the DSP is Darling Duckling. By using Secret Sea (instead of black) it paired perfectly with Lost Lagoon. Don’t forget that Secret Sea, although a deep, dark blue can fill in as a “neutral” in many instances. Below is the list of products used for this card:
- Basic White cardstock: 5 ½” x 8 ½”. Score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Lemon Lolly cardstock: 5” x 8”. Score at 4”
- DSP IN Color: Darling Duckling 2” x 5”
- Basic White cardstock scraps for stamping and die cutting
- Stamp set/Bundle: Pop Up Petals
- Ink pad colors: Darling Duckling, Lost Lagoon, Secret Sea
- Stampin’ Blends: Lost Lagoon (L), Lemon Lolly (D), Granny Apply Green (L & D), Poppy Parade (L)
- Linen Thread – about 6”
- Rhinestone gems OR 2025-2027 In Color Flat pearls (highly recommend!)
- Adhesive, glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, or other die-cutting method.
For Project 2, I wanted to create a unique Valentine card with something extra special. So once again, we made it a pop up card but this time with a clever twist.

To get this look, we let the pop up mechanism serve as a container or box. Decorated with pieces of DSP, you can totally envision a valentine box in the middle of the card. The next step was clever, as we used strips of clear window sheets to attach the little valentine elements. This way they seem to be floating up out of the box!
Even in this close up, you can hardly see the clear strips. And why in the world are the little Cupid’s arrows SOOOooo cute!?! I didn’t expect these die cut arrows to be my favorite element – although the die cut Hugs & Kisses are cute too. Product list and measurements below.

- Bubble Bath card stock : 5 ½” x 8 ½”. Score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Basic White card stock: 5 ¼” x 8 ¼”. Score at 4 1/8”

- Nested Essential dies
- Pop up Petals dies
- Bee Builder Punch
- Window Sheets scrap. You’ll want to cut 4 pieces approx. 1/8” x 1 ½”. Use White as an option.
- White, Bubble Bath, Real Red and Strawberry Slush cardstock scraps for stamping & die cutting.
- Stamp set/Bundle: Endless Love
- Ink pad colors:Real Red, Bubble Bath
- Adhesive, glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals

And then for project 3 we made this delicious cake card! This Bundle was not initially on my list of items to buy. Then, much like you, I saw a few projects done with the Cake Day Bundle and I became OBSESSED! The flavors of cake you can make by changing the colors provides endless combos of layer cake slices. And cake is NOT just for birthdays! Congrats. Anniversary. New baby. Engagement. Wedding. So many occasions call for CAKE! Be sure to get the Bundle! Some stamp sets stand alone and sometimes a die set can stand alone. But to get these images and this much creative variety you need BOTH the stamps along with the dies. Here’s the card….

Layer cake, macarons, dollops of cream, frosting, candles, banners. Oh my! There are so many amazing ways you can go with these elements. My card is a Mint-Chip colored theme with dark browns, soft green and a hint of pink. Don’t skimp – you’ll need the BUNDLE to make these bakery inspired paper treats. The Dies AND the stamps are required. I know you are ready to add this to your cart, so here is the link https://www.stampinup.com/products/cake-day-bundle-english?demoid=1434
