Two cards that look similar in style. One is easy and built with layers and one is more complex with flaps that open. Today’s cards are from Simply Saturday episode 209. Simply Saturday is my weekly series devoted to showcasing a “fast and easy card” design. In last week’s episode I included a stepped-up version of the fast and easy card. Which version will you try today?

My process – a friend showed me a photo of a card that she saw and wanted to duplicate. The person who posted the photo of that card did not include measurements or instructions. So the challenge was to figure it out so we could both duplicate that card design. Mission accomplished! I started out by playing with some rough measurements. After a couple tries, that part of the process lead to this ….

Once I got to this point I was ready to attempt the first draft using some favorite papers – Celebratory Sips. That got me to this point:

That version was indeed fast and easy but I was imagining each of those layers being a flap that opened. So I immediately went back to the basic design but with flaps in mind, adjusted my measurements. In this photo you can see how each layer became a flap….

OK, so enough about the process. Let’s get into the final version of both cards and talk about the measurements so YOU can duplicate these cards.

They appear on the Last Chance List and are offered at a discounted price. These won’t last long, so add them to your card and checkout now, before they are gone. The Lovely & Beautiful DSP is new and as it turns out, VERY popular. It is currently due back-in-stock the week of April 6.
