A little bit of Lemon

Today I recorded another episode of Simply Saturday. Simply Saturday is my weekly series on YouTube where I show a fast and easy card. Sometimes I’ll show a fast and easy project, but most of the time it’s a card designed for you to copy or gain inspiration. Hand made cards can take a lot of time and include many tedious steps….but that approach is optional! Some gorgeous cards are actually easy and don’t take a lot of time. Simply Saturday is devoted to showing how you can be creative without spending a lot of time or money.

Here is the card that is taught in episode 168:

Although it is fast and easy, there are some beautiful elements that really stand out. Let’s talk about the paper. This package of DSP (Designer Series Paper) is called Mediterranean Blooms and is bursting with yellows, flowers, lemons and some oranges too. The back sides are a variety of prints in blue and white. There is something very appealing about yellow, white and navy blue. And this paper is exactly that!

A surprise is waiting on the inside. I used a piece of paper, nearly the same size as the card, to FILL the inside with blooms. It’s not common to use/see this much DSP featured on the inside of a card. But now that we’ve crossed that bridge, we will go there again and again. See for yourself how the inside is bursting with pattern, and then a smaller-than-typical white space awaits your personal message. What do you think?
